BBBS honors Pauline J. White as a mentor’s mentor
Pauline J. White, director, employee & community relations for UnumProvident, BBBS board member and enthusiastic supporter, recently was honored by the Association of Fundraising Professionals as a Philanthropist of Distinction.
In nominating her for the award, executive director Ben Ticho noted that, as a board member, solicitor of funds, tireless recruiter of volunteers and a caring and loyal friend of Big Brothers Big Sisters, Pauline is a mentor’s mentor.
Because of Pauline’s initiative, we have an enduring partnership with UnumProvident in our School Based Mentor Program and an enthusiastic, dedicated group of Big Brothers and Sisters who are making life better for children in Worcester’s inner-city schools. Pauline personally recruited many UnumProvident “Bigs” whose after-school visits are highlights each week for their Little Brothers and Sisters. She also champions mentoring, both inside the company and outside in the community.
Pauline joined the Big Brothers Big Sisters board of directors five years ago and has been an active supporter ever since. She chaired our most successful fundraising event, teaching us by her example the importance of focus and the value of relentless attention to detail. We can always count on Pauline for good advice, good ideas and good works. It is an honor to nominate her as a Philanthropist of Distinction
